Finally! An update!
almost 3 years ago – Wed, Jul 14, 2021 at 07:04:29 AM

Hey everyone, sorry for the lack of updates but I have a bit of good life news. First though I want to introduce you to the new unlocked stretch goals!

To anyone that is part of my Patreon Pin club, The Hippogriff is a FREE pin. It doesn't matter how many pins you back 1-100, every Pin Club supporter get the pin for FREE, all you have to do to qualify is be part of the club for 2 or more months (can be starting from the beginning of the club or starting now) here is a link to the club if you are interested  Pin Club . For everyone else the pin is still available as a pin choice during surveys. In addition I also have my very special chubby Unicorn that is also FREE to everyone who backs 6 or more pins. I had originally said he would be rainbow plated but I am going with rose gold instead as I think it will look better with the design.

Now on to my talking about myself. I made a huge step in my career as an independent artist yesterday as it was my very last day being a Walt Disney World Cast Member. For the last 10 years I worked for the mouse. I started fresh out of high school as I was also attending college for studio art. After graduating I joined the front desk team at Animal Kingdom Lodge were I worked various roles for 8 years. During the start, right after college I felt so lost, art school teaches you a lot about techniques and gallery life but, like most schools, does teach you how to get an actual job in that field. I struggled for years trying to get into the Disney art programs and could never get a foot in the door. I was about to give up completely when I attended my first big convention in 2017 at Tampa Bay Comic con. It sparked something in me and from that moment I knew what I wanted to do with my life. From that day I've been building and building little by little to get to where I am today. Last year nearly threw a wrench in my plans but thanks to a very successful Kickstarter and support from my family, friends and fans I was able to keep going. I'm so excited to be able to now give more of my time to grow my business and create art. You can expect to see A LOT more from me going foreword and I hope you follow along with me on my journey. Thank you all for your support and I hope you'll continue to enjoy what I create.

More stretch goal sketches!
almost 3 years ago – Thu, Jul 08, 2021 at 10:27:23 PM

Hey everyone, its been a while since my last update. I've been busy working on sketches for new stretch goals. I wanted to them to be great so I took my time to make sure they were how I envisioned and I hope you like them. I'll be finishing up the designs this week and updating as they finish.

I'm especially happy with how the Pooka came out. I'm also almost finished with the White Stag and Cyrenian Hind. As an added bonus I also made this little beauty below. He will be a free pin for all backers of 6 or more pins and will also be available as a chosen pin as well. He will be made with rainbow plating so he will be soft enamel instead of hard enamel. He's a pin I mostly made for fun and as lighthearted commentary on the modern perception of the unicorn.

More stretch goals!!!!
almost 3 years ago – Sat, Jul 03, 2021 at 10:50:58 AM

More stretch goals are finished, these have actually already been unlocked!!! YAY!!! I'm working on sketched for even more from my list I posted in my last update. Thank you all for your support and I hope you like these new designs. The Hippocampus will be silver plating and will have transparent fins, the Longma will be gold plating and the Pegasus will be rose gold.

In addition to these stretch goals I have a batch of four alternate colors we can work towards unlocking!

A note to UK backers
almost 3 years ago – Fri, Jul 02, 2021 at 04:08:01 PM

Hello everyone! I'm busy prepping for Mississippi Comic Con this weekend but I am working on sketches for more pins so please stay tuned, it might be a bit till I can post them and most likely by then they will already be unlocked ;). A note to UK backers, it had completely slipped my mind until a very kind backer reminded me so please cancel your pledge and follow the following link to back the project.

UK Backer Etsy Link

It will charge you right away but you can use Klarna to make payments (I believe this is an option in the UK too, please correct me if I'm wrong) the link will be up until the project is over in case you wish to wait. I apologize for any inconvenience and hope this doesn't deter you from backing my project.

All first tier stretch goals met!
almost 3 years ago – Fri, Jul 02, 2021 at 04:07:38 PM

We did it! Only two days in and all stretch goals have been met! I'll be updating later tonight with the last three designs once I get home to my computer. You all really blew me away with my support, I really wasn't expecting to get this far so fast, as you can tell with my lack of preparation lol. During the slow moments at work I came up with a list of more creature ideas, it might be crazy and I'm not sure we will make it to unlock all designs but here is my "short" list

Ceffyl Dŵr: a welsh horse made of mist very similar to the Kelpie

Pooka/Puka: An Irish imp like creature that is a shapeshifter between goblin, human, horse, wolf and other creatures, for the project he will of course resemble more of a horse mixed with other creepy creatures

Hippogriff: A chimera of a griffin and a horse

White Stag: A mystical white stag whos coat and antlers were coveted as treasure

Ceryneian Hind: A golden stag in Greek mythology

Khalkotauroi: A pair mechanical bulls in Greek mythology that Jason had to defeat

Karkadann: often considered the original unicorn from India and Persia, a more brutish ox like unicorn

Peryton: Winged deer

Because I'm planning on adding so many more designs, I might be limiting the Whole Carousel tier since it give a HUGE discount of just a little over $8 a pin if all these goals are met. Let me know your thoughts and I'm going to get busy sketching.
